Biography

Jacob Meyer paints out of a love for the tradition of American art ‘ the landscape, the high desert, and the particular light that drew painters like Maynard Dixon west in the first place. Most of his work happens outdoors, chasing the same sky and open country that filled those early canvases. His eye has been trained by both classical and contemporary painters, but his subject is unmistakably the American West: its clouds, its distances, its quiet.
By trade, Meyer is a Creative Director at a branding agency serving the gaming and entertainment industries, with credits on major franchises including Marvel, Star Wars, and EA Sports. That career sharpened an eye for composition and light that occasionally gets traded for a pochade box and an easel in the high desert.
