Liam Matthew Dye

Biography

Liam Matthew Dye is an American painter based out of Arizona, whose work is inspired by the beauty of nature and the quiet moments of everyday life. His vibrant depictions of the Southwest’s landscapes and wildlife reflect a deep connection to the land and a lifelong respect for the natural world.

Growing up on a farm in the Midwest, Dye formed a close bond with animals— especially horses—and spent his youth riding and herding cattle. These early experiences continue to influence his artistic vision, infusing his work with authenticity and a strong sense of place. Influenced by iconic American artists such as Ernest Blumenschein, Maynard Dixon, and Ed Mell, Dye brings a contemporary edge to traditional Western themes.

Dye has received formal training in oil painting from the Scottsdale Artists’ School, further honing his technique and artistic voice. In March 2025, he was awarded First Place (Blue Ribbon) by the Scottsdale Artists’ League State Wide Juried Show and has been featured in Western Art Collector magazine.

He is currently showing at The Finer Art Gallery in Cave Creek, AZ.
