Linda Dobkin

Biography

Linda Dobkin was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. After moving to Tucson, Arizona in 1975, she began taking art classes to follow up on her earlier interests. This began with graphite and color pencil artwork, followed by additional drawing and design courses at Pima Community College. She started painting in acrylics and oils, finally choosing oils to help represent the world around her. She studied with some of art’s finest instructors, including Joni Falk, Hedi Moran, and Jean Chambers, at Scottsdale Artists School.

Linda has taught many painting classes, including classes at the Arthritis Foundation as a form of therapy for people with arthritis. Additionally, her artwork has been chosen for their holiday cards over the years. She has designed T-shirts for local schools as well as worked with elementary school children as an instructional aid, with an emphasis on art. Linda’s works have brought her numerous awards and ribbons on a number of occasions at Pima Community College as well as the Tubac Center of the Arts and the Karen Newby Gallery. Presently, her works can be seen in Tucson and Tubac.

Over the past several years, Linda has shown her artwork in a variety of shows throughout Arizona. Linda’s artwork has been featured in many shows and publications and has won her many awards. She is a member of the Salmagundi Club in NYC and Oil Painters of America.
