Ty Barhaug

Biography

Ty was born and raised in Wyoming, spending most of his young life in the mountains and backcountry. His love for art came from a very artistic family. Inspired by his mother and father, whom were both artists, he took up drawing at a very young age, and later on oil painting.

Ty’s adoration for the wild throughout his life has been inspired by working for an outfitter, wrangling and guiding in the mountains around Yellowstone. Ty was invited to Kerrville, Texas by Robert Pummill, who at the time belonged to the Cowboy Artists of America. His career moved on to working with other artists painting for galleries and art shows. Painting is not a job to him, but a passion.

Ty has several galleries that represent his works: Big Horn Galleries, Cody, Wy & Tubac, Az; Santa Fe Trails Gallery, Santa Fe, NM; Coeur d’Alene Galleries, Coeur d’Alene, ID, Mountain Trails Fine Art, Jackson, Wy. He has won many prestigious awards in many major art shows in the Rocky Mountain region. Ty now resides in Westcliffe, CO with his family.
