Scott Thompson

Biography

Scott Thompson was born in 1973 in Birmingham, Al. In his early twenties, Thompson discovered a true love for painting. Not only did he gravitate towards the western genre of art, but he also gained an appreciation for the texture and feel of paint. Since then, painting has been a large part of his life. Thompson expresses his love of painting through landscapes, horses, cattle, and wildlife. He has a strong appreciation for the shapes, colors and transitioning light seen in nature. Thompson is attracted to the always changing atmosphere and the challenge it presents to an artist. Thompson feels that practice and repetition with one’s drawing and painting are two of the most important factors in becoming a good artist. These are the values which have guided Thompson’s painting philosophy.
