Biography
Kathy was raised on the back of a horse in Oklahoma and Texas in the 60’s and 70’s. When she wasn’t riding, her love for horses sparked a love for drawing them. She loved their beauty, strength and grace. So then began her desire to capture their movement and resiliency with pencil and paper. As an adult, she put her drawing aside to raise her children. When she became an empty nester in 2020 Kathy picked up a pencil once again, striving for realism in each piece, born from her lifetime love of horses. Kathy is self-taught. She has been accepted into WAOW as an associate member and has won awards locally as well as nationally.
‘The love for all things horses, from when I was very small, their beauty, scent, strength and honesty is where my desire to recreate them on paper began, and so too my love for pencils and paper.’
