Marie Gray

Biography

Marie Gray has been inspired as an artist and creator since her time as a student
in junior high school, where she had her first real exposure to the art world and
developed her fascination in portraiture and equestrian art. She pursued her
degree thru multiple universities, collecting a wealth of knowledge from different
worlds of thought, culminating in a BFA through Midwestern State University with
a focus in painting, and secondary in ceramics.
Though Marie Gray never ceased developing her art, she began her full-time art
career in 2013. She has become well known for her equestrian and portrait
paintings in multiple mediums, such as watercolor, oils, and acrylics. She has
also extended her process to include dry mediums such as pastels, charcoal,
and graphite among others.
Currently, Marie is based in her home studio in Waxahachie, TX, where she
creates her large, representational paintings with the use of bright colors and
simple backgrounds, accentuating her subject’s mood and personality. Marie has
a strong drive to continually progress her artistic style through her own personal
work and commission work. She also hosts art demonstrations and workshops to
share with other artists of all levels the knowledge she has gained through her
years of experience.
Marie’s artwork is featured in the Davis & Blevins Gallery in Saint Jo, TX, as well
as The Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, TX.
