David Dorsey is a lifelong Nebraskan from a ranching background. He began painting full time six years ago and currently resides in the town of Valentine, Nebraska. Valentine is in the heart of the Sandhills and is a perfect fit for the type of artwork that he loves, that of the cowboy and prairie way of life, past and present.

He has participated in the Phippen Western Art Show, American Plains Art Show, and Mountain Oyster Club Art Show. He has received multiple awards, including the John K. Goodman award at the Mountain Oyster Club Art Show for the Best Work by a New Participating Artist, first place in Acrylic Division at the Phippen Show, second place in Drawing Division at the Phippen, Exhibition Award at the American Plains Artists Show, and was a top 150 finalist in the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society Spring 2018 online show
