Born in France, Morgane Antoine grew up with an early curiosity for the world, shaped by travel, discovery, and a deep fascination with nature. Exploring Europe and North America during her engineering studies broadened her perspective and strengthened her connection to wildlife and the natural world. When health challenges led her to reconsider her career path, she chose to fully dedicate herself to art.
A self-taught wildlife artist, Morgane first studied the work of renowned hyperrealists such as Robert Bateman and Carl Brenders, gradually developing her own highly detailed acrylic technique. Her work combines precision with a strong naturalist foundation, aiming not only to capture realism, but also the quiet presence and spirit of each subject. Every painting reflects her desire to share the beauty, fragility, and dignity of the living world.
Her work has received numerous international awards, including finalist placements in the Wildlife Artist of the Year and the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year competitions in the UK, as well as two awards at the Golden Turtle Wildlife Festival in Russia. She has also been recognized in major miniature art exhibitions across the USA and Canada. Morgane is a Signature Member of the Society of Animal Artists and the Miniature Artists of America.
Her paintings are held in private collections worldwide, and she also creates custom commissions and portraits. Through workshops, demonstrations, and conservation initiatives, she uses her art to support wildlife awareness and fundraising efforts, believing that beauty can be a powerful path toward protection.
‘My work is a constant search for those rare moments of truth and wonder that happen when we encounter a wild animal’brief, silent, and unforgettable.
Through acrylic painting, I aim to create an intimate connection between the viewer and the subject. I work with layers of fine detail, texture, and light to bring each animal to life, inviting the viewer to slow down, look closer, and feel the quiet presence behind the image. I want each painting to hold that sense of closeness’the feeling that nature is not separate from us, but something we still belong to.
My process is both technical and deeply rooted in observation. Research, field references, and a naturalist approach are essential parts of my work. Understanding an animal’its anatomy, behavior, and environment’is what allows me to paint it truthfully. Some pieces take several months to complete, shaped by patience as much as passion.
In a world that often moves too fast and takes too much, I feel a strong need to return to what is essential. Wildlife reminds us of both beauty and fragility. Through my work, I hope not only to celebrate the animal kingdom, but also to encourage a deeper sense of respect and responsibility toward its preservation.’
