Biography
Carla and her husband live totally off the grid on their cattle ranch in Wyoming. A seasoned cowgirl, Carla transitions easily from horse trainer to renowned western artist. There is music in her soul, family in her heart and her next big adventure on her mind. She prefers to see the world from the back of her treasured Arabian, Spook.
Having loved horses from as early as she can remember, it is no wonder that horses and all animals play a large part in the subject matter of artist, Carla Stroh. She works out of her studio on the ranch where she and her husband live off grid. Daily ranch life is often her inspiration and holds a personal meaning to her. Her firsthand knowledge and love of ranch life enables her to incorporate both technique and essence in each piece. Carla’s realistic style is often in demand as commissioned artwork. “I want people to look at my work and feel that maybe just yesterday, they were watching those horses grazing, or felt the wind shift to turn the windmill to water the cattle.” Her latest artwork includes paintings of wildlife from her own photos taken on a photo shoot in Montana. Now retired from teaching art in middle school, she remains active teaching yoga and art classes. She always is finding time to ride her horses.
