Jeri Salter

Biography

Starting in 2014, Jeri embarked on a project “On the Trail of Frank Reaugh” which involved painting the places Reaugh painted in pastels during his lifetime of chronicling longhorns and landscapes of the Panhandle and west Texas during the late 1800s to early 1900s. This culminated in 32 pastel paintings for a one-woman show depicting many of those same scenes as they are today. This project had an expansive and profound effect on furthering her desire to paint western landscapes of today.

“Whether in the beauty of grand landscapes or the everyday scenes that surround us; I am continually looking for an emotional response first in myself and then connecting with others.”
