Born in Walla Walla, WA, James and his wife, Marian, now live in Boise, Idaho. After many years in commercial art, advertising and management he is now a full-time artist. Working in oils, creating western and wildlife paintings that capture the beauty of the west. James is popular with collectors for his accurate portrayals of wildlife and working cowboys and getting it right. A participant in National Art Shows and competitions, his work is in private collections throughout the United States and Canada. His awards include Best of Show at the Cheyenne Spirit of the West Art Show. Gallery representation at Heritage Fine Arts in Toas, New Mexico and Wenaha Gallery in Dayton, Washington.
