Bruce D. Pierce

Biography

A fourth generation Montanan, Bruce and his wife, and two teenage children live in the beautiful Gallatin Valley near Bozeman, MT. Bruce loves to use the surrounding beauty, as the backdrop for many of his paintings of cowboys and girls, native Americans, and of the abundant wildlife in the area. Bruce began painting with oil colors, as well as watercolor around the age of 8, and though he has had little formal training, apart from high school art classes, he has enjoyed learning by doing, and by studying the art of artists he admires, both past and present. Bruce has been painting full time since 1998.

Bruce is a member of the “Out West Art Show” which gathers in March each year, for the Western Art Week in Great Falls, MT. He has also been juried into the C.M.Russell art auction the last several years, as well as the Montana Miniatures, show the last two years, both auctions being a part of the Western Art Week in Great Falls. He was also juried into the “Icons of the West” show a couple of times and won the “Best traditional” painting in one of those shows. Bruce has collectors in several states, from N.J. to California, as well as Canada. He mostly sells his artwork privately, and online, and through the auctions in which he participates each year.
