Biography
The call of the outdoors has always been my inspiration. My art is deeply rooted in my love for adventure – from trail running, hiking, and backpacking to hunting, fishing, skiing, and snowshoeing. Each of my highly realistic paintings originates from first-hand experiences and through my work, I aim to share the beauty and significance of these special moments with others, bringing the viewer into the heart of nature.
I specialize in creating realistic paintings that transport you into the natural world, capturing the very essence of being present in the moment. My detailed style reflects the rich textures, vibrant colors, and intricate patterns found in the wilderness, bringing nature to life in paint.
After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of California, Davis in 1993, I dedicated my career to wildlife art and have been honored with numerous accolades, including being named the 2009 International Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year. My limited-edition prints have raised over $1 million for conservation organizations across North America, contributing to the purchase and restoration of thousands of acres of wildlife habitat.
