Jason Lohmeier was born and raised in southern Arizona. Besides being influenced by the western art and artists living and showing in Tucson Arizona in the 1980s and 1990s, he has always had a love for the outdoors and been inspired by US and Arizona history. Jason received his BFA from the University of Arizona in 2005 and spent the next 11 years working in Art Education and doing freelance illustration and graphic design. In 2016 he decided to pursue a career in Fine Art with a focus on Western Art.
He was juried into several national shows in 2017 and added more juried shows to his resume in 2018, while winning the Western Art Collector Award of Excellence award at the 2018 Phippen Museum show. He also participates in Coeur d’Alene Galleries “Miniatures by the Lake” Juried Art show/sale in Couer d’Alene, ID, the American Plains Artists Show and Sale in San Angelo, TX, the Phippen Museum Art Show and Sale in Prescott, AZ, and Old Main Gallery “A Moment in Time” juried show/sale in Bozeman, MT.
