Biography
Brent George is a painter, designer, and former Creative Director based in Tucson, Arizona. With a career spanning over 35 years in advertising, editorial design, and photography, George has returned to his first passion—fine art—with a focus on cowboy and Western subjects that reflect his own roots in the American West.
Raised on a ranch located at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain on a portion of the historic Rancho Muscupiabe land grant, Brent spent his early years in the saddle, riding his Paint horse, Ace, across the rugged terrain of his family’s land. Those formative experiences—along with hours spent watching his Grandmére paint in her ranch art studio—deeply shaped his artistic perspective.
George’s work blends expressive brushwork with narrative realism, often portraying the cowboy, the horse, and the Western landscape with a reverence for tradition and a bold use of color. Drawing inspiration from artists like Van Gogh, John Singer Sargent, and Frederic Remington, his paintings capture both the romance and legend of the West—where beauty is raw, and stories are written in dust and sun.
Formally trained at the University of Arizona’s College of Fine Arts, George also honed his eye over decades of visual storytelling as a designer and photographer. Today, he brings that same compositional clarity and emotional resonance to canvas, offering a fresh yet timeless vision of the West.
