Kim Frank Fujiwara

Biography

Kim Frank Fujiwara is an award-winning artist with over 45 years specializing in fine art, commissioned art and portraits. After graduating from Center for Creative Studies in 1979, he worked at Detroit Studios as an illustrator. By the mid 80’s, he was an adjunct instructor at CCS for 5 years. In 1992, he started his own studio, Fujiwara Art, Inc.
Kim has garnered several awards including Scarab Club Advertising Show, Huron Valley Council for the Arts, The Ray and Nancy Loeschner Art Competition, MI Great Artist Competition, and Hour Best of Detroit 2019, 2022. Many of his works have decorated the walls of Oakland Hills Country Club and Ford World Headquarters.
After illustrating American Indian Stories of ‘Carlos Montezuma’ and ‘Ishi’ for Steck-Vaughn Publishers in the early 90’s and several visits to Arizona, in 2012 Kim directed his passion to ‘The American West’ series. He currently accepts commissions, exhibits in annual shows, and continues his lifetime commitment and passion in the visual fine arts.
