Biography
Born and raised in Arizona, Lia Bardin Bomar has been drawing since she was very young. Her parents noticed she had a gift for drawing and encouraged her in her interest. In 2005, she met artist William Ahrendt. He offered to take her on as his pupil and she studied with him for the next 6 years. In her studies, he guided her back to classical drawing and painting techniques used by the masters. In 2011 she spent a summer in Florence, Italy, where she studied classical drawing and painting at the Florence Academy of Art. She also studied for a year with artist Matt Dickson and has taken several workshops at Scottsdale Artists School with instructors including Jerry Salinas and David Kassan.
